As we enter the popular time of year for heading off on our vacations, look at the similarities and also the differences to how we used to do it. For some of you over a certain age, the gallery will trigger many memories if you went on your family escapes in the 1960s to 1980s.
Overseas travel, especially in Europe, to other countries became accessible to the masses in the 70s. It was a time to experience new food, languages, new and strange money, exotic sights and landmarks and reading newspapers from your country that were one or two days old as the only way of keeping up with what was going on back home. What image makes you wish you were there?
