Images by UIG photographer Marco Scataglini, focuses on documenting the Tuscia territorial area, in the Lazio Region. Highlighting an interesting landscape phenomenon – The Lazio Ecological Transition.
The Lazio Region, in central Italy, is engaged in what is called an ‘Ecological Transition’. Its aim is to transform the region towards a more sustainable development model, balancing human activities and natural resources. This process is guided by the Ecological Transition Plan (PTE) and aims to achieve global sustainability goals by 2050, with a focus on decarbonization, sustainable mobility, improved air quality and more.
With the establishment of the Department for Ecological Transition and Digital Transformation, the Lazio Region has reaffirmed its commitment to transitioning the regional system toward ecosystems that can provide renewable resources and services. This commitment is realized through principles of energy efficiency, the circular economy, the protection of biodiversity, natural resources, environmental quality and the respect of sustainable development.
Through Marco Scataglini’s splendid images, we witness this challenging territorial transformation, showing how renewable energy-producing elements must seamlessly integrate with the natural landscape and the evolving agricultural landscape.
