Marli Miller has been fascinated by geology since being an undergraduate at Colorado College in the early 1980’s – and has loved photography since high school. Marli maintained a love for photography all through grad school – and confesses she probably took much too long to complete her PhD (University of Washington, 1992) because of it. But as an instructor at the University of Oregon, Marli gets to do both geology and photography!

Marli has lived in Eugene, Oregon , USA for over 20 years. Some of her projects have been writing “Roadside Geology of Oregon”, published in 2014 (RG Oregon book on Amazon), and “Roadside Geology of Washington”, which she did with Darrel Cowan of the University of Washington, released in October, 2017. Most recently, Marli wrote “Oregon Rocks! A guide to 60 Amazing Geologic Sites” (April, 2021) and “Colorado Rocks!” with Magdalena Donahue (October, 2021).
Marli’s great and informative image collection ‘GeolgyPics’, represented by Universal Images Group, comes from over 35 years of geological field research.
