The Eiffel Tower, symbol of the city of Paris, will not only be center of tourist attention but will also be highly celebrated in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This French Edition of the Olympic Games will mark a memorable milestone in the history of sport and also in the world of medal design. In honor of the return of the Games to France, each Olympic and Paralympic medal will include a piece of the Eiffel Tower, creating a profound connection between this object of achievement, the ultimate goal of many athletes, and the iconic monument of Paris and France.

The medals for the 2024 Paris Olympics were designed by the French luxury jewellery house and at the center of each medal there is a small hexagon made with the original iron taken from the famous monument. On the reverse, as usual, an image of the goddess of victory Nike. Some small metal elements were removed from the monument during renovations in the 20th century and have been carefully preserved since then. The pieces of iron, cleaned of the characteristic dark paint of the monument, were set like real gems.
Our collection is rich in imagery of this French iconic landmark covering its construction beginning in 1887 and finished in record time of 2 years, 2 months and 5 days – a veritable technical feat of that time – to be ready for the 1889 Exposition Universelle, right up to the present day showing its central place in events and daily life over many years.
