Paris 2024, the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, will take place from July 26 to August 11. The City of Light will be on display to the world during the Games and the months leading up to them. Paris is no stranger to international attention and hosted more than 15 million visitors during 2023.
Paris has been a top tourist destination for as long as international travel has been a part of our culture. UIG’s Vintage and Historic collections provide many examples of how Paris was “sold” as a top destination to would-be international travelers. The vintage posters in the attached gallery exemplify how the culture of Paris as well as its iconic tourist destinations were prominently displayed in travel posters.
