UIG is privileged to represent British photojournalist Andy Soloman.  Andy’s travel and documentary photography represent the beauty in our world and the human need for connectedness, with nature and with each other.

Andy has traveled and photographed the world and has led businesses and photo bureaus in the United Kingdom and across Asia. He found his true passion in the early 1990’s while visiting Vietnam, a nation he would call home for several years during the nineties.  Traveling across the country, from his home base in Hanoi through rural towns and highland villages, Andy developed a true connection with the people and natural beauty of the Land of the Dragon.

While photographing people in many of the country’s rural areas, Andy would learn that many of his subjects had never been photographed before.  Decades later, Andy decided to embark on a journey to find people he had photographed many years earlier, to reconnect with them and to remind them of their earlier years.  In many cases, the people Andy was able to find again were amazed and overjoyed to see pictures of themselves from many years ago, often the only time they had ever seen pictures of themselves.

This beautiful and inspirational journey turned into an exhibition of Andy’s work and his connection with the Vietnamese people he photographed during his travels. The exhibition, “Continuum: Vietnam”, features more contemporary photographs of the people holding pictures Andy took of them years ago.  The exhibition highlights not only the passage of time on the beautiful faces Andy photographed, but also the remarkable modernization of Vietnam and its connections to its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
